Non-progressive roulette betting systems

The Martingale System

Most seasoned blackjack and roulette players know a thing or six about this negative progression system. It’s even safe to say that it’s the most popular betting system for playing live roulette. The Martingale System advises live roulette players to increase/double the initial stake after a loss. 

The idea is that you’ll get a winning streak, no matter how short, and that’s where the strategy will come in handy. This makes Martingale perfect for high roller players. 

Below is how it works on single number bets in roulette:

  • Bet 1: Stake $5 and lose, leading to a -$5 total.
  • Bet 2: Stake $10 and lose, leading to a -$15 total
  • Bet 3: Stake $20 and lose, leading to a -$35 total
  • Bet 4: Stake $40 and win, leading to a $5 total
  • Bet 5: Stake $5 and win, leading to a $10 total

Evidently, the Martingale system can take a toll on your bankroll. But if you practice proper bankroll management, this system can come in handy as you only need one or two bets to recoup your lost stakes plus a profit. The Fibonacci System

Fibonacci is another negative spin system where players increase their stakes after a loss. But unlike the Martingale system, where gamers double the lost stake, the Fibonacci mathematical sequence controls how much players increase. The mathematical sequence is; 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, etc. The numbers are the sum of the previous two digits.

Although this live roulette system can look intimidating on paper, it’s actually effortless to implement. In addition, you’re free to start your bet on whichever number on the sequence, although it’s best to start lower at 1. 

Here is how the Fibonacci System runs in roulette:
